The dark colors imply a dark day or dusk setting in. But if you take a second look, you can find specks of bright color like pink, lavender and reds, as if the painter wanted to highlight the coziness of the moment. This painting has many layers, not just by the alternate use of dark and light/bright colors, but also by the thick application of oil paint, seemingly applied in a geometrical way (hence the lines in the paint layer). Unfortunately the signature is not legible, because this piece is definitely made by a skillful artist. The style is loosely reminiscent of Arne Aspelin.
The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary wooden frame. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition but show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to their charm. The best way to see this is through the photos, so study them because they form the description.
