This seascape is full of character: you can imagine painter a stormy day and painter Göran Hagegård sitting on a rock overlooking the cobbled beach and watching the waves roll in. Hagegård uses quick brushstrokes, moody tones and some touches of purple, pink and yellow to add depth to the painting. About the artist:
Göran Samuel Hagegård (1907 – 1998) was a Swedish artist, writer, musician and elementary school teacher. As an artist, Hagegård was self-taught. He had no studio, but was a pure outdoor painter. His art consists of still lifes, landscapes in oil, as well as charcoal and pencil.
