You can picture artist Knut Hanqvist sitting on de side of a river on a cold day. He stares through the big tree across the river where he sees a small house with a pink roof with a smoking chimney. Hanqvist used soft tones which makes the painting more serene and tranquil.
The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited vintage wooden frame. The frame has been cleaned and painted, but may show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to its charm. The canvas contains a skillfully restored small hole, which is not detectable from the front of the painting. Please study the photos carefully because they form the description.

About the artist:
Knut Axel Hanqvist (1904 – 1981) began his art studies when he was eighteen years old by attending painting schools in both Sweden and Paris, and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. He has had several solo exhibitions in Sweden and was awarded many scholarships throughout his career. Hanqvist is represented at Moderna Museet, Sörmland Museum, Östersund Museum, Norrköping Art Museum and Östergötland Museum; all in Sweden.
