Modernist oil painting of a red barn in the snow. Oil on panel, signed and dated (1965).
Very atmospheric and colorful work. The rustic winterly scene brings a peacefulness reminiscent of past times. Painter Sigfrid Bengtsson used his palette knife to add some extra structure in the snow, while using a brush to add details like the ladder.
The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited vintage wooden frame. Both painting and frame may show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to their charm. The best way to see this is through the photos, so study them because they form the description.
Size: 46 x 54 cm (with frame)
