With a lot of color and different techniques, painter Roland Alexander Brook recreated this fisherman’s shed that is situated on the rocks, close to the sea. He first sketched the outlines of the rocks with blue paint, filling it in with yellows, browns and maroon, adding layers and depth to the painting.
The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited vintage gilded wooden frame. Both painting and frame may show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to their charm. The best way to see this is through the photos, so study them because they form the description.

About the artist: Not much is known about Roland Alexander Brook, who used the alias Rod Book to sign his paintings. Most of his work is dated 1950–1955 and consists of (maritime) landscapes in oil and pastels.
