Colorful Cliffs

Painter Carl Berndtsson adds to the ruggedness of the Swedish coast by using thick layers of oil paint, applied with a palette knife. At the same time, he expresses softness by choosing subdued pastel colors and adding some specks of bright orange and pink. The combination results in an atmospheric, colorful painting that will bring personality, layers and color to your home.

The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited vintage silver frame. About the artist:

As a painter, Carl Berndtsson was self-taught. He learned the trade during study trips to England, Belgium, France and South Africa. Berndtsson participated in exhibitions of the Skåne Art Association in 1935–1937, of the Swedish Arts Council in 1940, and had individual exhibitions in Stockholm and Köping. He created still lifes, flowers, mountain landscapes. Examples of his work are held in public collections including the Kristianstad Museum, Helsingborg Museum, Landskrona Museum and Höganäs Museum.
