An abstracted and expressionist coastal landscape in oil on canvas. Signed.
Painter Gideon Isaksson (1911-1980) went out to sea to capture this rugged southern Swedish coast. With quick brush strokes and use of browns, grays and some touches of orange, Isaksson created a athmosperic landscape.
The painting is cleaned and the complementary wood frame is restored and updated. Both painting and frame may show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to their charm. The best way to see this is through the photos, so study them because they form the description.

About the artist:
Isaksson studied at the Skåne School of Painting in Malmö and at the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He exposed in Trelleborg and the Skåne Art Association. His art consists of still lifes, flowers, landscapes, harbors and street in a naturalistic style. Isaksson is represented in the Trelleborg Museum.
