Painter Uno Bornemark painted the rocky beach with soft brush strokes and muted tones of ochre, blue, purple and some pink. Exceptionally atmospheric painting. Rather than striving for photographic realism, Bornemark sought to capture atmosphere, movement, and the unique character of a place through expressive brushwork and a sensitive use of color.
The painting is cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited gilded vintage wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.

About the artist:
Uno Bornemark (b. 1907) was a Swedish painter whose work reflects the artistic spirit of post-war Europe. In 1947, he spent time in Paris, where he studied the human figure and developed his artistic style while absorbing the influence of the city's vibrant art scene.
Throughout his career, Bornemark was inspired by everyday life and the changing light of Southern Europe.
Although relatively little is documented about his life, Bornemark's paintings continue to be appreciated by collectors for their warmth, elegance, and evocative portrayal of European life and landscapes.
