This plein air painting by autodidact John Börén (1903-1983) boasts orange, green and gray tones, depicting a wrecked boat laid to rest on the beach. Combining light and firmer strokes, he sets this abstract and colorful scene.

The painting is surface cleaned and comes with a complementary, well-suited silver vintage wood frame. Both painting and frame may show some age-related wear and tear, which largely contributes to their charm. About the artist:

Swedish painter John August Gustaf Börén, (6 June 1903 - 22 January 1983) was an autodidact artist, learning the trade during trips to Italy and France. He exhibited regularly in the exhibitions of the Skåne Art Association and the Hörby Art Association. He had solo exhibitions in Trelleborg and Malmö. Börén is represented at the Malmö Museum and the Southeastern Skåne Museum of Art in Tomelilla.
